In 2025 we will be running our annual summer recruitment to find our future trainees.

We are looking to recruit for 2025, 2026 and 2027 trainee solicitors over summer 2025. Applications will open in December and the application form deadline is 8 June 2025.

All application forms are read by at least two members of the graduate recruitment team and are compared against our minimum criteria. We set our minimum criteria for potential applicants based on their academic achievements: you should have very good results at GCSE or its equivalent (or a minimum of ABB at A level or equivalent) have no less than 128 UCAS points (or their equivalent, this is 320 UCAS points in the old tariff) at one sitting and a 2:1 degree at university (or be on course for a 2:1 degree). We recognise that not all applicants fulfil these criteria; however you should only apply if you have other strong qualities.

Successful applicants will be contacted shortly after the deadline date and will be interviewed during the beginning of July with an associate or senior associate and a member of the human resources team.

Following the first interview, successful candidates will be invited back to attend the second stage of the recruitment process. The second interview process is carried out over two days, during which you will meet various members of the firm and to get a feel of life as a trainee at Memery Crystal and Rosenblatt. This also includes lunch with the trainees and dinner with the partners and fee-earners, giving us the opportunity to get to know you better, and for you to get to know us. During the two days you will also be assessed during a number of activities, including team and individual exercises.

Those successful at second interview will then be invited to a final stage interview with two partners.

We normally make our offers within two weeks of the second interview process. During the next two years we continue to keep in contact with our future trainees and invite them to our Christmas party and other social events.

Where great minds dare to be different. We are two distinct law firm brands under one corporate umbrella: disputes powerhouse, Rosenblatt, and the choice of growth companies and their leaders, Memery Crystal.

With two brands ambitious trainees get dual insight and exposure to diverse, interesting, and challenging work for motivated, often high-profile, clients. Our teamwork, inventive, open culture and agile approach means we set milestones for our clients and our competition.

Founded in 1989, Rosenblatt is completely focused on dispute resolution. We are best known for being aggressive, outcome-driven litigators; in high-profile, high-value complex cases. Competitive in the best sense, and international in our reputation and reach, we are known for our insistence on the highest standards and our determination to achieve results. From the CEO of a FTSE company to an ambitious entrepreneur, each client can expect consistent access to our Partners who lead agile, responsive teams of experts, united by a shared ethos and a powerful sense of purpose.

Founded in 1978, sister brand Memery Crystal is a recognised leader in equity capital markets, M&A, real estate, and natural resources. We also specialise in cannabis, gambling, direct selling, hotels, retail and leisure, and technology sectors. We act for a broad range of clients, from individual entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses, to city institutions and multi-national corporations. At Memery Crystal we are renowned for having a strong international focus, which we see as vital to our vision of remaining distinct in a globalising economy. In addition, we have considerable cross-border transactional experience and have built strong relationships with other advisers around the world.

Memery Crystal and Rosenblatt are trading names RBG Legal Services Limited, which is the legal services division of professional services group AIM-listed RBG Holdings plc. Memery Crystal was acquired by RBG Holdings plc in 2021.

Memery Crystal’s suite of practice areas include banking and finance, equity capital markets, M&A, construction, real estate, commercial, IP and technology, employment, financial regulation, and tax. Clients include well-known companies and financial institutions, owner-managed businesses, HNW individuals and entrepreneurs.

Rosenblatt’s international ground-breaking disputes offering includes commercial litigation, international arbitration, defamation, financial crime, insolvency, and civil fraud. Professional practices, financial services, media, leisure and HNW individual clients all seek incisive action on contentious commercial issues.

Trainees will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience across both Memery Crystal and Rosenblatt brands, providing trainees with dual insight and exposure to diverse, interesting, and challenging work for motivated, often high-profile, clients.

During their training contracts, trainees will sit with a partner, legal director, senior associate or associate. Their development is monitored closely and due to our partner-led service, trainees will work closely with partners from all departments, and will receive regular feedback in addition to their appraisals every three months with their supervisor and a member of HR, helping them to set and achieve goals for their future.

All trainees are given on the job training and mentoring, and are invited to all sessions in the firm’s internal training programme, which covers practical and technical training as well as business development sessions. These provide the foundations for a successful career as a lawyer.

Trainees will rotate seats every six months, and we aim to give second years their preference in seat choice, and offer the option of repeating seats.

We believe that trainees should be integrated into the firm from their first day; you are encouraged to get involved in various firm initiatives and committee groups.

Ultimately, we believe that if you accept a training contract here then you are worth investing in. We are looking for individuals to become and remain Memery Crystal and Rosenblatt career lawyers.

The Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) is the new route to qualification for all aspiring solicitors in England and Wales. It’s designed to assure consistent, high standards for all qualifying solicitors.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority requires aspiring solicitors to have a degree qualification in any subject, pass two centralised assessments (the SQE1 and SQE2), undertake two years’ full-time qualifying work experience, and meet the character and suitability requirements in order to qualify.

We are committed to ensuring we offer an inclusive work environment where equal opportunities are available to all, everyone is assessed on their own abilities and that we maintain a culture of mutual respect; where everyone can bring their whole self to work and where our differences are welcomed and celebrated.

We have a dedicated ED&I committee and six active sub committees that focus on specific strands of diversity, who meet regularly to identify initiatives, changes to policies and processes, training, events and other ways to raise awareness, support and promote an inclusive work environment.

Gender parity

For gender equality to be effective, there must be no glass ceiling. Barriers that exist or are perceived to exist are being broken down, to allow everyone to achieve greater gender balance, in all areas of the company, at all levels and within society at large. Awareness and specific initiatives will help make us more conscious of such innate differences which hold no validity in the way in which we do our work.

We are much more comfortable talking more widely about areas which affect women and trans, such as menstruation, menopause and perimenopause and with increased access to knowledge, information, support and policies to assist people at different life stages, we retain loyal and productive people who feel valued because of how they are treated.

Culture and ethnicity

We operate in diverse industries, across diverse cultures and in diverse areas of the world. We are one world dispersed across six continents and our ability to reach out to every corner of our globe is becoming limitless.

As legal advisors our clients want to know that we are reflective of the environments in which we operate. It’s not enough to say words, we must have strong cultural sensitivity to be able to transact the law with clients as the natural way of doing business.

Our great strength is that our people love to talk about the cultural heritage, their ancestors, their traditions and customs and an even greater strength is a genuine desire of our people to listen, learn and be part of that culture. A healthy dose of the food from different cultures goes down particularly well!

LBGTQ+

However you identify, whatever is different about you, we make you comfortable bringing the real you to work – your identity inside work and outside in your private life is seamless and no different.

We adopt pronouns, gender neutral facilities, a trans and inclusion policy and our dignity and respect at work policies are there to serve you and ensure that you don’t encounter any difficulties in the company.

Social inclusion

In many countries the socio-economic background children are born into is still the biggest determining factor in their life chances.

Working in the legal sector is steeped in historical rituals and ideologies and we are doing what we can to help young adults step into the law where they may not have had opportunities to do so in the past.

We work with organisations where we give opportunities to university students to have a mentor, join our vacation schemes, we review our channels for attracting candidates from the less obvious universities and we now have solicitor apprenticeships, which allow students to learn and earn and obtain a degree without the financial burden which comes from a university education.

Disability and neurodiversity

Much of what we are is like an iceberg – a small amount visible on the surface and much more hidden under the surface. We may not be in a position to know what is going on for people in their lives and we aim to support people who have invisible as well as visible disabilities or challenges.

Organisations who have a neurodiverse workforce get with that individuals who bring creativity, new ideas, and fresh perspectives. It is hugely valuable to have different thinkers, lateral and sometimes off the wall ideas. We are at the start of our path to greater understanding and support around neurodiversity and we are working with IT to showcase to all our people helpful resources around assistive technologies.

Faith and religion

Faith is part of belonging to a set of beliefs which drive your actions in life. We recognise and support people with their faith at work and allow those who may not have a faith to recognise that.

Our aim is to create our work environment where belief is acknowledged and understood as a significant aspect of our lives and a culture where people of all faiths and none can flourish.

We do this through the cultural celebrations that we mark throughout the year, which form part of our overall understanding of faiths and what is important to people in their everyday lives and which
