The SRA, Bar Standards Board (BSB) and ILEX have announced a number of key appointments for the joint Legal Education and Training Review (see “Legal regulators combine on education review”). The review - now known as 'Review 2020' - aims to take account of the future demands on legal services and the changes to the legal market.
The UK Centre for Legal Education has been contracted to conduct independent research, while the position of co-chair of the consultation panel has gone to Dame Janet Gaymer and Sir Mark Potter. Baroness Ruth Deech, BSB chair, said: "We are confident that Dame Janet and Sir Mark will work tirelessly to ensure that the review has a solid overarching framework and will be based on sound research."
The research team will include representatives from various universities and policy bodies, including the University of London, Northumbria Law School, Nottingham Law School, the University of Oxford and the University of Warwick.
