Founded in 2020, Bridging the Bar (BTB) works to increase the equality of access to opportunities within the legal profession across all underrepresented groups. It aims to "bridge the gap between candidates from non-traditional backgrounds and the skills, experience and networks required to develop a career at the Bar".
BTB has a programme called The Academy, which sees 100 BTB candidates gain access to programmes and training opportunities over the course of the academic year having been selected via a single application process. The Academy has been designed to offer aspiring barristers the chance to obtain the skills, experience and mindset to secure pupillage.
