Job description
We are looking for a trainee solicitor to join our busy office in Newcastle (commencing March 2022). Our Newcastle office specialise in banking litigation work including debt and asset recovery litigation and complex conveyancing transaction work for our lender clients. The two-year training contract will be working with the partners, associates and solicitors within the Newcastle office and with their wider teams throughout the UK.

Job purpose
The trainee solicitor will support the partners, associates and solicitors in ensuring that all clients are provided with the best possible advice and recommendations and that client expectations are managed throughout. They will require to be competent when drafting legal documents and handle transactions within a timely manner.
Person specification
The trainee solicitor will be required to have excellent organisation and communication skills, as they will be required to manage large volumes of work and to communicate well with other legal firms and departments along with assisting clients using both the telephone and email.
It is essential that the trainee solicitor can work using their own initiative and that they have excellent attention to detail too.
Candidates must have completed their qualifying or exempting law degree or Common Professional Examination / Graduate Diploma in Law and their Legal Practice Course.
