Slaughter and May increases salary for newly-qualified solicitors

updated on 06 May 2014

Slaughter and May has increased how much it pays trainees and qualified solicitors for the second time in two years.

Newly-qualified solicitors' salaries were increased from £63,000 to £65,000, as reported by The Lawyer, while solicitors at two and three years post qualification will benefit from slightly smaller percentage increases to their already bumper salaries. The move could be interpreted as a way for the firm to keep its pay competitive with those offered by its US counterparts.

The increases also follow the firm's temporary freezing of its pay bands in 2012.
