Winckworth Sherwood has been named the leading law firm in the United Kingdom for workplace gender and ethnic diversity by the Black Solicitors Network (BSN).
BSN’s annual diversity league table is based on research that looks at the number of women, black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME), LGBT and disabled lawyers in each law firm and barristers chambers. Winkworth Sherwood, a firm well known for strong practices in areas including social housing, real estate, family and private client, was praised for its leading commitment to gender and BAME diversity among the United Kingdom’s top 100 law firms.
Karen Chalmers, human resources director at Winckworth Sherwood, said: "We have always taken great pride in the approach we take in supporting all staff irrespective of background, sexuality, ethnicity and physical ability. This recognition from the BSN is a public statement of what we and our clients have always known and we are grateful to them."
