The University of Law’s (ULaw) Moorgate centre hosted a delegation from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam earlier this month.

Vietnam's deputy justice minister, Nguyen Duc Chinh, led the delegation on a fact-finding mission to learn about legal education in Europe ahead of the Vietnamese government’s introduction of a new legal training programme that is planned to integrate with international legal systems. Representatives from the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the government body UK Trade and Investment were also present alongside ULaw’s senior management.

Professor Nigel Savage, president of ULaw, said: "This visit is further proof that today's legal services market is truly global and that modern lawyers operate more and more on an international level, requiring a specific set of skills and knowledge. The University of Law's mission is to be widely recognised as a world-class legal training institution and we are delighted to offer our support as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam embarks on the development of a new programme of training to meet these global challenges."
