The University of Law to run BPTC in Leeds from Sept 16

The University of Law has announced that it will be running the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at its Leeds centre from September 2016. It already runs the BPTC in London (Bloomsbury) and Birmingham.
The University of Law’s BPTC incorporates four times more advocacy than required by the Bar Standards Board, as well as offering pro bono and networking opportunities to ensure that all students are prepared for pupillage and beyond. It also has an Advocacy Committee, which organises entries into national and international competitions, as well as running a number of internal competitions and workshops.
Tom MacDonald, University of Law Leeds Centre Director, says: “Our excellent links with local chambers mean that we are able to offer one of the most developed pro bono, careers and employability programmes of any law school, including providing students with the opportunity to represent real clients in various tribunals. The BPTC will be an excellent addition to the first-class legal education we already provide.”
The University of Law is hosting the first ever Northern Pupillage Fair in March 2016, which will feature chambers from the Northwest, Northeast and the Midlands.
