The University of Law (ULaw) has teamed up with The Sunday Times and 15 leading law firms to offer the chance to win one of 12 £6,000 LLB scholarships and over 20 work experience placements.
The Innovation in Law scheme awards scholarships towards to the cost of studying for a law degree at ULaw, while all winners and up to 14 runners up will also win a work experience placement with one of the 15 participating firms. Six of the scholarships will be funded by ULaw, with the rest funded by firms Clifford Chance, Irwin Mitchell, Linklaters, Macfarlanes, Ogier and White & Case. The other law firms participating are Ashurst, Berwin Leighton Paisner, CMS Cameron McKenna, DWF, Freeth Cartwright, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Hill Dickinson, Pannone and The Co-operative Legal Services.
To be eligible to be entered into the competition for a scholarship, you must have applied to commence studying for a law degree in 2014 and selected ULaw as a firm choice. Entrants must submit an essay, short video or other form of digital presentation by Thursday 31 July 2014, answering the question: "If you could introduce a new piece of UK legislation, what would it be and why?"
