The University of Law (ULaw) and the University of Liverpool have announced a new strategic partnership, offering joint and dual programmes in law with business and management.

Initially, the universities will offer two new undergraduate courses and one postgraduate programme from September 2015. The degree programmes on offer will be law with business and law with accounting; graduates will receive joint degree awards from both institutions. Both dual degrees will be qualifying law degrees, allowing graduates to progress to vocational legal training.

David Willetts MP, minister of state for universities and science, welcomed the news: "Both organisations have a fantastic track record of innovation in domestic and global markets and their collaboration will surely create new opportunities for young people entering the professional services sector." President and CEO of ULaw, John Latham, commented: "This is the first time that the University of Law has combined its undergraduate provision with business and accountancy qualifications and we are excited to be taking this step in partnership with the University of Liverpool. These business-focused dual degrees demonstrate our ability to invest in innovative programmes, which respond to the needs of employers and provide an attractive option for career-minded students, allowing them to gain skills in leading professional disciplines."
