The vital contributions of paralegals are finally to be celebrated with the first National Paralegal Day, it has been announced.
The National Association of Licensed Paralegals has initiated the new UK-wide celebration to recognise the often-unsung work that paralegals do to provide legal advice to those who could not otherwise afford it. Increasingly, paralegals fill a void left by cuts to legal aid and increased pressure on firms to drive down costs.
An inaugural ceremony will be held on at 6:00pm on 14 March at the House of Commons, with further details, including on awards categories for those who have made outstanding contributions, to be revealed in the coming weeks.
