The Widening Access Network (WAN) and BAME Nation have collaborated to launch a three-day virtual law conference, which will provide aspiring lawyers with a guide to the application process.
Taking place across 13-15 October 2020, the conference aims to break down and demystify the “requisites for successful vacation schemes and/or training contract applications”, with insight from a range of trainee lawyers and legal experts, including trainee lawyer Charles Ashie, commercial lawyer Vida Adaah, senior counsel and director of pro bono Sam Cottman and future trainee solicitor Ali Obeid. Attendees will also be offered advice on how to develop their commercial awareness and an opportunity to network on the final day.
Focused on outreach and improving access to professions, WAN and BAME Nation said they want the conference to “reduce the anxiousness that comes with going down the legal route and open attendees’ eyes to how to put their best foot forward, having all these concepts explained in a practical way.”
