The University of Law (ULaw) has partnered with Newcastle University to offer students specialised postgraduate training courses at the leading Russell Group institution’s Law School.
ULaw’s Legal Practice Course (LPC) will be available as a full-time or part-time option from September 2021 for law graduates working towards qualification.
From September 2021, non-law graduates can take ULaw’s Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) or MA Law courses full time via Newcastle Law School, before progressing onto the LPC or the Bar Practice Course.
A £500 launch discount will be offered to candidates enrolling on ULaw programmes in Newcastle for September 2021.
The roll out of Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) preparation courses will also be led by ULaw.
The “strategic” partnership between the two institutions, that share a commitment to offering “education of the highest quality”, will complement Newcastle Law School’s “research-led teaching and the development of practical legal skills” through its LLB degrees, according to Dr Johnathan Galloway, head of the Law School.
Galloway added: “We are excited to be working with our new partners as the changes brought about by the introduction of the SQE take effect.”
Speaking about the partnership Professor Andrea Nollent, vice-chancellor and CEO at ULaw, said: “Newcastle University already has an outstanding reputation as a leading Russell Group institution, and we believe our partnership will present students with a uniquely special offering to best prepare them for their future careers in the competitive legal profession.”
