A new MA in Law degree is being offered by The University of Law in partnership with the University of Chester’s Law School. The two institutions announced the collaboration in December, with the MA in Law open to non-law graduates from September 2020.
The new course will be hosted at the University of Chester and delivered by The University of Law. For law graduates, the MA will be offered alongside Chester’s LLM programme. The collaboration between the universities will provide undergraduate law students with a direct pathway to The University of Law’s Legal Practice Course and new SQE preparation course.
Alongside covering the legal foundation subjects, students on the MA in Law will be taught practical legal skills such as analysis, critical evaluation, research and presentation skills.
Carol Draycott, dean at the University of Law’s Chester Campus, said: “ULaw is delighted to have this new formal agreement with the University of Chester, cementing the close relationship between the two Law Schools in the city. Together we will provide an excellent legal education for students enhancing the legal professional services in the region.”
Associate professor Ruth Sutton at the University of Chester Law School said: “We are delighted to be strengthening our ties with ULaw to develop Chester as the regional legal training hub for Cheshire and North Wales. It is a great benefit for the students and the regional legal community for our organisations to work in close association to provide local joined-up training at all stages of legal qualification.”
Applications are open now for the course. Find out more on the University of Law website.
