In the wake of the release of the Leveson Report last week, the Law Society's last public debate event of the year will examine the report's conclusions on British press culture, practices and ethics.
The panel (which includes Gideon Benaim, media law specialist and partner at Michael Simkins LLP) will look at the implications of the report in relation to the future shape of press regulation, freedom of speech and protection of privacy. The series is being run in association with the Huffington Post.
This debate is open to members of the Law Society and the public, with the Law Society encouraging "anyone interested in the debate topic" to register - students are specifically mentioned. The free event is on Tuesday 11 December, starting at 6:00pm. Learn more and register here. If you can't attend, follow the debate live on Twitter at #LawSocDebates.
