Careers advice provider Ultimate Law Guide is holding a one-day conference on 11 July, designed to help trainees and students learn more about the "radically changing profession" they hope to join and the skills they need to succeed.

The "Developing into ultimate lawyers" conference will feature advice from partners, trainees and general counsel on topics that include commercial awareness, attracting mentors, preparing training contract applications, the importance of networking and much more. Professor Richard Susskind will deliver the keynote address, with other speakers to include Solomon Wifa, London managing partner at O’Melveny & Myers, and Kristin McFetridge, chief counsel at BT Legal.

Craig Robinson, CEO and founder of Ultimate Law Guide, said: "Making your way in to the law and then up through the ranks is extraordinarily tough. And the odds are not in your favour unless you take control of your career from the outset, and at every step of the career path. Ultimate Law Guide’s career conference is designed to help young lawyers do this to the best of their ability."

The conference will run from 8:30am to 5:30pm on Friday 11 July at Birkbeck, University of London. The full ticket price is £50, but for a limited time, attendees will pay just £25. Places can be registered via [email protected] or booked directly at www.Ultimatelawguide.com.
