Student Law Society Awards 2018 open for submissions

LawCareers.Net is delighted to announce the launch of the Student Law Society Awards 2018.
The Student Law Society Awards recognise and celebrate the important work that student-run university law societies do for their members, including putting together careers events, mooting competitions and pro bono work. The 2018 awards were launched at our Student Law Society Networking Event on Thursday 5 October, which was attended by over 50 representatives from a range of universities. Submissions are now open for 12 different awards, with judging based on each law society’s submissions and a survey of their members. The awards up for grabs are:
- Best at student engagement - sponsored by Kirkland & Ellis International LLP
- Best careers event - sponsored by Charles Russell Speechlys LLP
- Best society for aspiring barristers
- Best mooting activities - sponsored by Blake Morgan LLP
- Best social event
- Best society for non-law students – sponsored by Osborne Clarke LLP
- Best society for first-year students - sponsored by Slaughter and May
- Best pro bono activities - sponsored by DLA Piper
- Best social media - sponsored by Shoosmiths
- Best law society president
- Best law society overall - sponsored by Clyde & Co LLP
- Most committed to increasing diversity – sponsored by Baker McKenzie, in conjunction with Aspiring Solicitors.
Societies wishing to be considered for the awards should first make a submission detailing its events and activities. We want to get a real feel for what the society does and to highlight some of your proudest achievements as a group. Student law society members should also complete a survey about their society here, with every member who submits a survey entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Amazon voucher.
