Six lawyers have been promoted to international firm Simmons & Simmons’ global partnership this year, in what is the firm’s smallest promotion round since the 2008 financial crash.
The promotions took place across Europe and Asia-Pacific, and will be in effect from 1 August 2020 following the firm’s decision to pause partner promotions in April as a result of the pandemic.
Of the six partner promotions, two were based in London, one in Bristol and four went to women.
Senior partner at the firm Colin Passmore congratulated the new partners on the promotions as he welcomed them to the partnership: “This is a talented group of lawyers that have shown a remarkable commitment to our firm’s clients, culture and values.
“I’m confident they will help us to navigate these turbulent times and continue to grow and strengthen our market-leading offering across the globe. I’m delighted that more than half of our new partners this year are women, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to gender diversity within the partnership and the legal profession as a whole.”
