Leading law firm Shoosmiths has announced a 100% trainee retention rate for its spring cohort of nine trainees, with the newly qualified (NQ) solicitors based across the firm’s UK offices, including London and Manchester.
The Northampton-founded firm found real estate, and dispute resolution and litigation to be the most qualified into practice areas in the cycle, with the firm’s NQs also qualifying into corporate, commercial, banking, employment, construction and pensions, according to Legal Cheek.
This comes as international law firm White & Case LLP revealed an 87% trainee retention rate for those qualifying in March. Out of the 23 qualifying trainees, 20 were offered NQ positions with the firm – the majority of which will be based in London, with one joining the firm’s Doha office.
Earlier in the year, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, A&O Shearman and Linklaters LLP also announced the retention rates for their trainees due to qualify this spring, reaching 88%, 84% and 75%, respectively.
