Another consultation has been launched on the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), with this one focusing on the changes to regulations that will be necessary in order to introduce the ‘super exam’.
The SQE is a new exam which all aspiring solicitors will have to pass in order to qualify, with the new arrangements set to replace the old system centred on the Legal Practice Course. The exam is scheduled to be introduced by 2020 at the very earliest and now the Solicitors Regulation Authority is running a consultation setting out the regulatory changes that the SQE’s introduction will require, as well as how it will in future affect those who want to work as solicitors in England and Wales and have already qualified, such as overseas lawyers.
The consultation will close on 26 July 2017.
