Pinsent Masons is embracing the spirit of National Pro Bono Week by taking part in Micro-Tyco, a charitable business challenge that gives teams £1 of seed capital which they must transform within the month of November into as much money as possible. The firm is encouraging students to enter, under the Pinsent Masons umbrella.
Micro-Tyco is run by WildHearts, a charity that gives micro-loans to people in the developing world and which has been supported since its inception by Pinsent Masons. Last year WildHearts lent £550 to teams participating in Micro-Tyco, generating a return of £106,882.
A further incentive for students who decide to enter - those individuals with the most innovative ideas and/or who raise the most money will be given a place at Pinsent Mason's "office insight evening", held in December.
To enter, you need to fill in this online form and submit a team name of "Pinsent Masons - [your team name here]". Individuals or teams of up to five people may apply. You must also submit a short summary (500-word maximum) illustrating how you grew your pound to [email protected] by 1 December 2012.
