Norton Rose Fulbright supports new e-mentoring programme to widen access to legal profession

Norton Rose Fulbright has announced its partnership with the Financial and Legal Skills Partnership through the 'Get In Get On' initiative. The e-mentoring programme works with 16 – 19 year olds, with lawyers helping the students make informed choices about their future careers.

Originally designed for students interested in careers in the financial sector, Norton Rose Fulbright is one of the first legal practices to be involved in the initiative. Matthew Hancock, skills minister, has pledged his support for the programme, where students are connected with careers mentors via a virtual platform. In March, nine Norton Rose Fulbright lawyers began working with students from inner city schools in and around London.

Sacha de Klerk, diversity and inclusion manager at Norton Rose Fulbright, commented: "The level of exposure students have to the legal and financial professions can vary widely depending on where they live. This programme really changes that. We can work with students who don’t have to physically come in to our offices to hear about how we work, and how they can become a part of our practice."
