Norton Rose Fulbright and Queen Mary University of London have teamed up to provide two full scholarships for the latter’s LLM in Energy and Natural Resources Law course for a second year.
The tuition fee scholarships, both worth £13,000 for UK students, were first offered last year when Queen Mary launched its Natural Resources Law Institute, which is based at its Lincoln’s Inn Fields campus in London. Scholarship students also benefit from a two-week international internship with Norton Rose Fulbright. Anyone wishing to learn more about the LLM programme and apply for the scholarship should do so by Sunday 13 March 2016.
Norah Gallagher, the Natural Resources Law Institute’s academic director, said: “The full payment of fees is obviously very attractive, but this isn’t just about money, it’s also about building networks and connections within a globally prestigious law firm that is very active in the energy sector. The message to those considering the LLM is that while this opportunity is highly competitive, it is one not to be missed.”
Neil Miller, head of the energy disputes practice of Norton Rose Fulbright and a member of the working group committee for the Institute commented: “Our commitment to the energy industry continues to grow and we remain dedicated to providing the chosen students with invaluable skills to become successful energy lawyers through attendance on the LLM and through our internships. [Queen Mary] has an excellent reputation and we are pleased to be able to sponsor this scholarship programme.”
