Nominations open for student pro bono awards

Pro bono organisation LawWorks has announced that nominations are open for its annual LawWorks & Attorney General Student Awards.

Now in its eighth year, the awards recognise the impressive work of law students and law schools undertaking pro bono activities. The awards will take place at the House of Commons on 1 April 2013, with the attorney general, Dominic Grieve QC MP, presenting the winners. The categories include:

  • best contribution by an individual student ;
  • best contribution by a law school (undergraduate and  postgraduate institutions);
  • best contribution by a team of students; and
  • best new pro bono activity

The awards will also incorporate an essay competition run by the Access to Justice Foundation. If you wish to nominate a student, group or law school, find full details on the LawWorks website. All nominations must be received by midnight on Sunday 9 February 2014.
