The eighth annual LawWorks & Attorney General Student Awards are underway, with nominations now being accepted for those law students and law schools undertaking great pro bono work.

The awards, which are sponsored by LexisNexis, are designed to celebrate the positive impact that these activities have on the various communities that they benefit. The attorney general, Dominic Grieve QC MP, will present the awards on 1 April 2014 at the House Commons in the following categories:

  • best contribution by an individual student;
  • best contribution by a law school (undergraduate and  postgraduate institutions);
  • best contribution by a team of students; and
  • best new pro bono activity.

Awards will also be given to the winner of an essay competition run by the Access to Justice Foundation and the overall winners of the Law School Challenge, run jointly by LawWorks and the Bar Pro Bono Unit.

Nominations close at midnight on Sunday 9 February 2014. For information and nomination forms, go to LawWorks’ page.  For details of last year’s awards, see our LC.N Says blog piece and news story.
