Southeastern firms Moore Blatch and Barlow Robbins have completed their £40 million merger, with the newly merged Moore Barlow set to continue operating a “well-established training programme” from its Southampton head office.
The two merged firms’ combined turnover places Moore Barlow firmly in the UK top 100, with 70 partners, 272 lawyers and more than 200 other staff based across offices in Southampton, Guildford, Woking and Lymington, as well as two London sites.
According to the firm’s new website, the carried over training contract programme will continue to include four separate seats, each lasting six months. “You will be given every opportunity to take on responsibility as your knowledge and experience increases,” the firm says. “We will support you during your training, but we also expect you to take responsibility for your own learning and for developing additional skills. We encourage client contact early in your career.”
As Legal Futures first reported in March, the merger sets Moore Barlow up to compete with expansionist firm Knights, which has acquired regional firm ASB Law to mark its arrival in “the strategically attractive South East market”.
