For the second year running, London Metropolitan University has run a “Get into Law” event, aimed at encouraging students from underrepresented backgrounds into both postgraduate study and the legal profession.
The event was hosted by the university’s Law Mentoring Programme, the School of Law and the Guildhall Faculty of Business and Law, and it featured, among other things, a panel of legal professionals from a variety of firms, namely Milner Elledge Solicitors, Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors, WMB Law and Clyde & Co. They talked about their careers and offered tips on how to get ahead. The panel session was followed by networking and drinks reception.
Organiser of the event and Law Mentoring Programme coordinator, Beverley Rizzotto, said: “I am so pleased that many of our students attended, and appeared so engaged; I truly believe that they all will have taken something from listening to the legal professionals, and hope that they use the experience and knowledge shared in shaping their own career path.”
