Linklaters has launched a tailored training contract for Mandarin speakers whereby candidates are trained in London before moving to practise in China upon qualification.
The programme is designed for penultimate year undergraduates or postgraduates in the United Kingdom who can speak, read and write Mandarin. Candidates will take Linklaters’ bespoke LPC course at the University of Law, Moorgate, before dividing their training contracts between two seats in the firm’s London office and two in its China offices. Once qualified, the new associates will then practise in either Hong Kong, Beijing or Shanghai.
The firm will initially recruit three people through this training programme, while Lawyer2B reports that over 50 applications have already been received.
