LawCareers.Net celebrates work of students at second Student Law Society Awards

updated on 18 March 2016

On 17 March 2016, the LawCareers.Net Student Law Society Awards, sponsored by DWF LLP, brought together students, recruiters, partners and trainees with the LawCareers.Net team for a networking-rich presentation at Painters’ Hall in London. The annual event recognises the dedication of student committees across the country offering their members innovative careers events and comprehensive pro bono and mooting activities, alongside traditional socialising with peers. Nominated societies were selected from the submissions of over 40 student law society committees, alongside over 1,600 votes from their members.

Sam Ratcliffe, content and engagement coordinator at LawCareers.Net, commented: “It’s a tireless work ethic, teamwork and enthusiasm that make the nominated Student Law Societies great and their efforts have made these awards incredibly difficult to judge. In each and every category, we were blown away by the wealth of passion, ingenuity and focus that goes into what the societies do.”

Emma Hardman, graduate talent specialist at DWF, added: “When embraced, student law societies offer a world of opportunities for future lawyers. The opportunities and network offered to students can ultimately shape their university life and subsequent professional careers.”
