Law and business: commercial news round-up 27.08.15

- Greece continues to fill the business news feeds, with developments this week that include the resignation of the Prime Minister, a snap election called and a split within the ruling party.
- However, it was China in fact that had the world on the edge of its seat, as its stock market woes caused shares around the world first to nosedive, and then rise again as the Chinese authorities stepped in.
- Complaints to the Financial Ombudsman about “packaged bank accounts” (ie, accounts that come with extras, such as insurance) have risen dramatically, with around 25,500 in the first half of 2015 - more than in the whole of 2014.
- The odds are stacked (against their competitors at least) as Betfair and Paddy Power announce they are to merge and create the wold’s biggest betting exchange.
