Election day is upon us! We hope that you are spending a good chunk of your time today (i) voting, and (ii) following the rolling news coverage, but do take a moment to cast an eye over these commercially interesting stories (many with an election slant) as well:
- Lloyds shares rose by 7.5%, despite news that it had lost £660 million on the sale of TSB.
- Legal Business has summarised why the results of this election are "high stakes" for the City and those who advise its constituents.
- UK construction activity has hit a nearly two-year low, with many firms holding off on spending decisions until after the election.
- Speaking of which, there are some obvious ways to tell how the market has reacted to the outcome of the election – the Guardian offers five key things to watch, while The Telegraph analyses what’s happening to the markets, without any results yet known.
