Law and business: commercial news round-up 05.02.16

Apparently it’s “Super Thursday” again, so if you’re interested in the vicissitudes of rising and falling rates and markets, follow the Guardian’s live business blog for a blow-by-blow account. For other commercial news, check this selection out:
- A sixth broker has been cleared of wrongdoing in the Liobor rigging trial; the cleared brokers claim to have been nothing more than “scapegoats”, with more senior officials left untouched.
- Blaming “market turbulence”, George Osborne has announced that the sale of the final batch of government shares in Lloyds has again been delayed.
- With its sanctions lifted, Iran has signed an enormous deal valued at a whopping $25 million with Airbus for the manufacture and maintenance of 119 planes.
- And in other plane-building news, although not of quite the same magnitude, Rolls Royce will provide engines for Norwegian Airline’s new fleet of Dreamliner aircraft in a $2.7 billion deal.
- Pipping Apple to the post, Google has been valued as the world’s most valuable listed company, with its global revenues rising 13% to $75 billion in 2015.
- Sainsbury’s has revealed its intention to "future-proof" its business in the form of a £1.3 billion offer to buy Home Retail Group, the owner of Argos. Indications are that the deal will be approved by both parties’ shareholders in the next few weeks.
