In the recently released episode of The LawCareers.Net Podcast, LCN teams up with The University of Law (ULaw) to discuss the postgraduate Legal Practice Course (LPC).
In the episode, LCN’s Bethany Wren speaks with Peter Crisp, pro vice chancellor at ULaw, about:
Peter also runs through the benefits of studying the LPC at ULaw, including the teaching style and employability prospects for aspiring solicitors.
This episode is aimed at students who are still eligible to choose between taking the LPC or qualifying as a solicitor through the new Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) route. Peter explains why those with the choice might like to take the LPC while they still can.
Speaking about the choice between the LPC and SQE, Peter says, “The LPC is tried and tested. It’s been around for over a quarter of a century now and is a very highly regarded qualification… We recently did a survey of law firms and the vast majority of those law firms are not transitioning to the SQE until at the earliest next year, with 42% transitioning in 2024.”
