International law firm Jones Day has revealed that it is retaining 100% of its qualifying trainees for a second year running.
The firm is renowned for its cross-border M&A and disputes practices, as well as expertise in real estate and other aspects of finance. It also operates a unique non-rotational training system, which enables trainees to seek and experience work in areas of their choosing. And this year’s qualifying trainees obviously felt that the firm has lived up to its reputation, with all 15 accepting newly-qualified positions this summer.
David Smith, the partner who leads Jones Day’s trainee recruitment and development programme, said: “We are delighted that both this year and last year we were able to offer a career at Jones Day to all of our qualifying trainees. We invest hugely in our trainee programme, and hope that one day these newly qualified lawyers will make partner, as many trainees have before them. 40% of our current London partners trained at the firm.”
