The Junior Lawyers Division (JLD) has opened applications for its upcoming annual expedition to Tanzania, run in conjunction with the sustainable development charity Raleigh International.
The trip begins on 18 October and will last until 5 November, and also qualifies as a set number of hours of accredited continuing professional development. Applicants should hurry, as reportedly there are only a few places remaining on the 15-person JLD delegation.
The community projects that the team will be working on are planned by Raleigh International in partnership with a local non-governmental organisation. The projects mainly consist of infrastructure developments such water systems and biological fuel plants.
The project offers the chance for aspiring lawyers to gain transferable planning, team working, problem solving, interpersonal and intercultural skills in a challenging and different environment. The team will also contribute positively to the communities in which it will be working.
