In the race for justice: Kent Law Campaign student group hosts fun run

updated on 04 November 2013

The Kent Law Campaign Student Group (KLCSG) organised a 5km fun run, held on Sunday 3 November at the University of Kent campus. The event was part of wider fundraising efforts to generate funds for the Kent Law Campaign.

The campaign, a £5 million project, seeks to build a new home for the Kent Law Clinic and the Kent Law School's mooting programme. The Kent Law Clinic is a pro bono legal aid service that provides free legal advice and representation to members of the local community who cannot afford access to legal services. Each donation secured will be matched by the university; to date, £3.3 million has been raised. Other activities have included a law ball, season's greeting cards and quiz nights.

The fun run was started by his honour Judge Nigel Van der Bijl, the honorary recorder of Canterbury. Open to students, staff, alumni and friends, the race included prizes for first male, first female and best fancy dress.
