The University of Law is launching a series of new employability events which will help prospective students prepare for their legal careers.
Students hoping to study the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) will receive advice and guidance on CVs, covering letters and applications, as well as enjoy the opportunity to network with ULaw alumni. The Step-Up roadshow will also feature one-to-one and group sessions with Chris White of Aspiring Solicitors, who is himself an alumnu of The University of Law Moorgate. Commenting on his involvement with The University of Law’s new project, White said: "I am delighted to be working with The University of Law to help aspiring solicitors to achieve their legal ambitions. Assisting students irrespective of their educational background, social mobility, race, sexual orientation, disability or age is central to the founding principles of Aspiring Solicitors and crucial to increasing diversity in the legal profession."
Director of employability at The University of Law, Rachel Harris, said: "The Step Up events are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of our ongoing employability initiatives, which include over 600 mentoring places, over 3,300 pro bono opportunities, access to our award-winning online student employability programme (‘StEP’) and networking opportunities with hundreds of legal recruiters".
The roadshow of events began on Tuesday 10 March at the London Moorgate centre and will continue to other University of Law centres including Guildford, Leeds, Chester and Bristol. To attend, you can book a place online.
