An event aimed at lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students, with the tag line "Now you're out, let us help you get in", is being held on 4 December 2012. DiversCity is supported by Allen & Overy, Baker & McKenzie, Berwin Leighton Paisner, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, Herbert Smith Freehills, Hogan Lovells, Olswang and Pinsent Masons.
Held at Freshfields' offices in London, the event offers seminars, skills sessions and networking opportunities for LGBT students interested in a career as a solicitor. Attendees will have the chance to chat to trainees, partners and recruiters about what it's like to be "out in the City" and find out about graduate recruitment processes.
An attendee from last year's events said: "DiversCity provides a crucial forum to show what the experience of LGBT lawyers is really like. I found the networking session particularly useful since it afforded a great opportunity to ask everything you want to know about life as an LGBT lawyer that you were afraid to ask or weren’t sure how to find out."
The event will run from 1.00pm until 7.30pm on Tuesday 4 December. For further details and an application form, email [email protected] or visit the graduate recruitment website of any of the participating law firms. You must apply by Friday 16 November.
