International law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has increased salaries for its newly qualified (NQ) solicitors in London by 3% to £173,100.
Solicitors at the firm with two years of post-qualification experience (PQE) will earn £180,800, while those with three years of PQE will receive a salary of £200,000, according to Legal Cheek.
The salary boost comes after many law firms upped junior lawyer pay last year, with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher UK LLP paying its NQs £180,000, excluding bonuses. Other law firms with NQ salaries in a similar region to Debevoise & Plimpton include Weil, Gotshal & Manges (London) LLP (£170,000), Milbank LLP (£170,455), Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP (£173,000) and Vinson & Elkins RLLP (£173,077).
The pay for Debevoise & Plimpton’s trainees will remain the same, with first-year trainees earning £55,000, before rising to £60,000 in their second year.
