Coffin Mew merger with Charles Lucas & Marshall cements firm’s position as regional leader

Leading regional firm Coffin Mew has completed its merger with Charles Lucas & Marshall.

The merger increases the firm’s turnover by 30% and its employees by 40%, making Coffin Mew one of the largest law firms in the South, with a business worth £15 million employing 220 staff across eight offices. Charles Lucas & Marshall, the junior partner in the merger, is a full-service firm which brings strong experience in the rural and landed estates sector. The merged firm should therefore boast a much-expanded private client offering.

Both firms will continue to trade under their original names for now, with no plans for office closures or redundancies at Charles Lucas & Marshall at present, although it may well adopt the Coffin Mew name in the foreseeable future.
