The College of Law has announced details of its 2013 scholarship programme, to help its students with their course fees.
Scholarships are available to the College's LLB, GDL, LLM LPC and BPTC students. Specific awards for those starting in September 2013 include:
Professor Nigel Savage, CoL chief executive, said: "When we launched our scholarship scheme last year, we were extremely impressed by the high quality of the entries and the commitment that students showed towards entering the legal profession. The scheme is designed to help ambitious, talented students to achieve their goal of a successful career in the modern world of law and we look forward to reviewing this year's entries." Details of how and when to apply are available here (LLB) and here (GDL, LLM LPC and BPTC).
In other CoL news, it has announced the extension of its Gold Awards scheme to students beginning the GDL in January 2013. The awards are open to students who have received a First in any subject or a distinction at master's level and who are not otherwise being sponsored by a firm or barristers' chambers. There are 30 awards available and successful applicants will receive £2,000 towards their GDL tuition fees. If they then go on to study the LPC or BPTC at CoL, they will receive a further £1,000 towards their fees.
Eligible students should email [email protected] for information on how to apply. They will be required to submit a statement by 7 December describing what winning the award would mean to them and how it would help them attain their ambition of a career in law. Further information is available here.
