Results from the recent Law Society presidential election have been released, with news that commercial litigation partner Simon Davis of Clifford Chance is to become president in 2019.
Davis has enjoyed a legal career of over 30 years. Of his new role, he says: “It is a great privilege to have been elected to represent the profession. I intend to represent the Law Society's broad spread of members as I represent my clients – finding out and resolving the challenges they face, permitting our members in turn to devote their energies to representing the clients who depend on them.”
As is traditional, Davis will take on the role of vice president in 2018 before assuming the top job at the Law Society’s AGM in July 2019.
