London-based firm Cubism Law is launching a new legal apprenticeship programme in partnership with City University London and CILEx Law School.
The first intake of four to six apprentices is due to start in September. The apprentices will train at the firm for six years – with the aim of including a client secondment into the programme – before qualifying as Cubism’s next generation of solicitors.
Andrew Pena, director of Cubism Law, said: “We see the apprenticeship route as a way of developing highly skilled, more business-focused, entrepreneurial lawyers of the future. Setting the recruitment of the first intake within the context of a 10-year plan shows our strategic commitment to this initiative.”
Jenny Pelling, director of business and apprenticeships at CILEx Law School, commented: “It is very exciting to see opportunities like these open up in City law firms. These recruits will be able to get into a law career at an innovative firm, without incurring the debt associated with full-time undergraduate and LPC study.”
