City LLM students offered international internships

updated on 18 October 2012

Three international law firms have teamed up with City University London to offer LLM students the chance to apply for three high-quality internships. City students taking the LLM in international commercial law can win valuable experience with Shearman & Sterling LLP, Sidley Austin LLP and Stibbe by entering an essay competition and then undergoing an interview.

Sidley Austin LLP, with 18 offices spread across North America, Europe and Asia, is offering a summer internship in Brussels to students taking modules in either international cartels, substantive EU competition law, world trade or antitrust in a global context. Shearman & Sterling LLP is also offering an internship with its Brussels office, which is known as a major international antitrust practice. Meanwhile, Stibbe will offer one lucky student an internship with its EU and competition law practice group in Amsterdam.

Professor Alan Riley, director of the LLM programme at City University London, said: "We are delighted to work with such major, cutting-edge international legal practices. The internships give the winning students the opportunity to blend the knowledge that he or she develops on our international commercial law LLM courses with first-rate practical commercial experience at some of the world's top law firms. Each of the successful students will gain invaluable insight into modern practice at the highest level."
