Charles Russell and Speechly Bircham merge to create Charles Russell Speechlys

Charles Russell and Speechly Bircham merged on 1 November, with the new firm now called Charles Russell Speechlys.
The merger has created a UK top 30 law firm with key strengths in private client and corporate, strong practices in real estate and construction, and specialist teams providing employment and intellectual property advice to a range of sectors. The firm has 500 lawyers and 170 partners, and boasts revenues of some £135 million.
James Carter, managing partner of Charles Russell Speechlys, said: "The size and structure of the integrated firm unlocks significant opportunities for our clients and for our staff. Partners from both firms had the desire to create the market-leading firm providing business law and private wealth advice internationally. The creation of Charles Russell Speechlys takes us a long way towards meeting that shared and now very achievable objective."
