CILEx launches enquiry into paralegals

The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) has launched an enquiry into whether paralegals can meet the future needs of the legal services market.
The start of the Paralegal Enquiry was marked with an event at DWF’s London office last week, and its first phase will involve a number of targeted focus groups that are set to take place over the autumn. CILEx hopes reach a better understanding of the legal workforce and employer attitudes toward paralegals to see how the profession will look to deliver legal services in the coming years.
Stephen Gowland, the president of CILEx, said at the enquiry’s launch: "The ambition of the enquiry is to enable CILEx to deliver knowledge, skills and professionalism in a way that doesn’t date, a way that can meet the fast changing requirements of a sector increasingly technology-led, yet still knowledge and skills-led and people focused, and in a way that will be appropriate for every type of legal business, that businesses and individuals will have trust in."
