In the latest episode of The LawCareers.Net Podcast, LawCareers.Net’s Bethany Wren speaks with Bar student and LCN vlogger Dani Alaka about her journey to becoming a barrister.
Dani shares her experiences of the Bar course so far, including study tips, and explains the process for securing a scholarship from an Inn of Court to fund your postgraduate studies. She also offers her pupillage applications advice and comments on the importance of continuing your personal interests outside of the Bar when pursuing a career in this field.
She says: “One of the things I’ve learnt is that all my experiences and hobbies have prepared me for the Bar, but these are also the things that are going to sustain you throughout your career… they keep me me, and keep me sane! And they keep me wanting to have this career because it doesn’t totally consume what I do.”
