The Bar Council has been in attendance at both the Labour Party and Conservative Party conferences to deliver its clear message to politicians – namely that “justice is a precious asset which needs to be protected”.
Bar Chairman Alistair MacDonald QC and Chairman-Elect Chantal-Aimée Doerries QC attended the conferences with the aim of highlighting the important role that the barristers’ profession plays in society and why access to justice is so important.
MacDonald said: "Our justice system is under unprecedented strain, which is why it is so important to stress its importance. It is equally essential that the political parties understand the vital role the Bar plays in underpinning our world-renowned justice system."
