BPP offers free course if no legal job after graduation

updated on 02 May 2013

BPP Law School has announced a new initiative which will mean that if one if its LPC graduates fails to secure a job in the legal sector (of any kind) within six months of graduating, she/he will be allowed to come back to BPP and study for free.

This offer applies to all students starting the LLB, GDL or LPC with BPP in September 2013 at its law schools in London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Cambridge, Bristol and Liverpool. If a student does not secure a job within the agreed time, he/she can come back to the law school and study for an additional qualification up to the value of £16,500, from an approved list which includes (among others):

  • any MSc degree at the Business School (worth up to £11,995);
  • any LLM degree at the Law School (worth up to £9,050);
  • chartered financial analyst (worth up to £2,514);
  • chartered tax adviser (worth up to £2,590);
  • the New York Bar course (worth up to £3,597); or
  • any Continuing Professional Development course (worth up to £596).

Peter Crisp, dean and chief executive of BPP Law School, said: "This is a unique offer and reflects our confidence in the employability of our LPC graduates. It builds on the enhancement of our LPC for September 2013 by awarding it as an MA (LPC with Business). The additional business modules - which the students can undertake for free - will put them at a competitive advantage against other LPC students. We want to go a step further with the free qualification offer as a way of demonstrating our commitment to enhancing the CVs of all of our students. We are the market leader in terms of innovative legal training - it is no coincidence that over 25 of the leading law firms come exclusively to us for their legal training requirements."
