BPP Law School has won recognition at the LawWorks Pro Bono Awards for its Leeds-based commercial clinic, run in partnership with Eversheds.
The commercial clinic won the award for Best Contribution by a Regional Law Firm or Organisation for its work in helping local small businesses and entrepreneurs. Launched in 2013, the clinic has gone from strength to strength, with BPP students providing great commercial legal advice under the supervision of Eversheds solicitors.
Emma Blackstone, pro bono manager at BPP, said: "Receiving the LawWorks award is a great achievement for all students and Eversheds LLP lawyers who work at the commercial clinic. We are extremely proud of the work that all our students and partners do, as the service they provide often makes a significance difference to people who otherwise may not have access to professional legal advice. At BPP we encourage our students to participate in one of the many pro bono schemes and initiatives that we run, as it enables them to develop their legal skills outside of the traditional classroom environment while gaining experience in a range of practice areas."
